Industrial design is not just an art, but also a process of alchemy. Throughout their career, Magis have conjured the magic of contemporary design. Established in 1976 in the north east of Italy, the Magis company is a true benchmark in the world of design. Their success is founded on the desire to make 100% "Made in Italy" products of the highest functional and technological quality, accessible to as many people as possible. Stefano Giovannoni, Jasper Morrison, Konstantin Grcic, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Marc Newson, Ron Arad, Naoto Fukasawa, Marcel Wanders, Philippe Starck, Zaha Hadid and Thomas Heatherwick, are just some of the designers who have collaborated with Magis, giving form to a large range of products, each with its own story and individual personality to express. A large number of Magis creations have already achieved design icon status, from Stefano Giovannoni's Bombo stool to the Steelwood Chair by Ronan and Erwan Bourollec, which was awarded the ADI Golden Compass in 2011. In 2008, Thomas Heatherwick's Spun seat also received the Golden Compass. Aside from many awards, Magis products can be found in permanent collections in museums such as MoMA in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Pompidou Centre in Paris.
