Product Description

With the mission of creating a shell stool with a more unified look that would stand as one cohesive unit, Simon Legald has created the Form Stool for Normann Copenhagen. To achieve this seamless, integrated look, a new and innovative solution for gathering the seat with the legs has been developed. The molded plastic seat and frame of oak, walnut or steel are naturally integrated with the seat using a unique cup system. The plastic seat and wood or steel legs meet elegantly, accentuating the high quality craftsmanship of the design. Form is an armless modern stool with a minimalistic expression. With a simple and contemporary design Form Stool has a soft and welcoming silhouette and a distinctly residential look. The legs appear almost as if they are growing out of the shell. This gives the design flexibility and makes it possible to vary the frame in a great number of ways, accommodating a vast number of interiors. The Form Stool have great back support and provide freedom of movement. The strong materials and contoured shape ensures a comfortable seating experience.

Normann Copenhagen

Jan Andersen and Poul Madsen teamed up to create the Normann Copenhagen brand in 1999 with a vision to make a difference in the design industry. The turning point came in 2002 where they launched the first product, the lamp Norm 69 under the brand name: Normann Copenhagen. Normann Copenhagen cooperates with a large number of Danish and International designers – each with their individual expression. They also work differently in the developing of new designs. A Normann Copenhagen product is characterized by being eye-catching in use and by the design, form, color or material.

Simon’s designs are often created in a dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. He also likes to incorporate the techniques that are necessary for the structure of a product into the design by highlighting them visually. He says about design : ''For me honesty describes the true identity of objects. By highlighting the techniques necessary for the structure of the product, and making it a visual part of my design. Therefor I design with both craftsmanship and industry in mind.''
